Trekking in Darjeeling

Darjeeling Trekking Season

Darjeeling has two trekking seasons. The first season begins in the middle of March and ends in the first week of June.
During this season, one can expect occasional shower which simply rejuvenates the soul. The second season starts around the last week of September and ends in December. Snowfall, stunning views of the snow-covered ranges make the experience truly memorable.

General Guidelines :

Attire:
The trekking area ranges from 1000m to 4000m therefore it is advisable for the trekkers to carry clothes suitable for both low tropical area and high mountain ranges. Light woolen cloths , wind cheater gloves should find a place in the exciting journey. One has to carry a raincoat as the weather is little moody in the higher altitude.

Food:
Trekkers hut can be easily found after every 15 km, light snacks, mineral water should find a place in the bag.

Shoes
Hunter boots or Sport shoe is preferable.
